Footsteps Campaign: The Campaign for Holy Cross
Much has been accomplished by the Congregation of Holy Cross since its founding in 1837. But the achievements of the past 175 years pale in comparison with what can be done and what needs to be done. More priests are needed to follow in the footsteps of the great band of men who preceded them. More resources—human, spiritual, and financial—must be secured to support and sustain the efforts of the Congregation.
A journey of the magnitude of the Footsteps Campaign is not taken without serious planning. In the spirit of good stewardship, the leadership of the Campaign for Holy Cross has studied and recommends the following allocation of resources.
Religious Formation, Education, and Advanced Studies: $12 million
- Annual support of Formation and Advanced Studies
- Campaign to create awareness of Holy Cross and encourage vocations to the Congregation
- Endowment for public relations and technological communications
- Total endowment for Office of Vocations including staffing and communications: $1.5 million
- Holy Cross Education Endowment and Moreau Seminary operational resources: $10.5 million
Holy Cross House, Assisted Living, Retirement, and Wellness: $10.5 million
- Assurance of quality health care and facilities
- Gifts for retirement and healthcare, for partial operational funding of Holy Cross House plus subsidizing of dental and health insurance premiums, and for assisted living: $10 million
- Gifts for a Wellness Program to identify individual needs and health assessments and development of strategies including health plans and wellness support systems: $500,000
International Missions: $8.4 million
East Africa
- Operating endowment: $5 million
- Infrastructure investments at Holy Cross Lakeview Secondary School: $1.2 million
- Physical expansion of the Novitiate in Saaka for vocational development: $600,000
Mexico
- Endowment for Formation and Education of Seminarians: $1.3 million
- Creation of a Formation House: $300,000
Total Needs Identified: $30.9 million
Our Plan
Through the generosity of our many friends, Holy Cross will meet our needs for sustaining our mission and preparation for the future. Doing so will require a phased approach. Currently underway is Phase 1 of the Footsteps campaign with a $6.5 million goal. Upon its successful completion, the Province will build upon that momentum with a secondary effort in the coming years.
