Celebration of First and Final Vows 2011

Final Vows E

This summer has been a joyous time for the United States Province. On two continents, five men have made their Final Profession of religious vows with Holy Cross, and six made their First Vows.

On Saturday, Aug. 27, Mr. Matthew C. Kuczora, C.S.C., will become the sixth and our newest finally professed member when he makes his Final Profession of Vows and is ordained to the Order of Deacon the following day on Sunday, Aug. 28. On Saturday, Provincial Superior Rev. David T. Tyson, C.S.C., will preside at the celebration of the Eucharist at which Kuczora will profess his vows. It will take place at 2:00 p.m. (EDT) at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart on the campus of the University of Notre Dame. On Sunday, the Most Rev. Kevin C. Rhoades, Bishop of the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend, will preside over Kuczora’s Ordination to the Diaconate. This Mass will take place at 10:30 a.m. (EDT) in the Moreau Seminary Chapel.

On August 5, we celebrated the final profession of five of our religious from the District of East Africa. Constantine Changwe, C.S.C., Timothy Macharia, C.S.C., Vicent Mbusa, C.S.C., Luke Muhindo, C.S.C., and Patrick Tumwine, C.S.C., professed forever the vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience according to the Constitutions of the Congregation of Holy Cross. In July, six novices took their First Vows at the Holy Cross Novitiate in Cascade, Colo. Matthew Fase, C.S.C., Timothy Mouton, C.S.C., Stephen Pepper, C.S.C., Daniel Ponisciak, C.S.C., Christopher Rehagen, C.S.C., and Anthony Stachowski, C.S.C., are now back at Moreau Seminary in Notre Dame, Ind. continuing their studies and journey with Holy Cross as temporarily professed.
