Tomorrow, Paul Ybarra, C.S.C., will take his final vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience, in the Congregation of Holy Cross. The Mass of final profession will take place in the Basilica of the Sacred on the campus of the University of Notre Dame with the Provincial Superior of the Indiana Province, Fr. David T. Tyson, C.S.C., presiding.
The following morning at 10:30 a.m. Paul will be ordained to the Order of the Diaconate by the Most Rev. John M. D’Arcy, D.D., Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend. Following his final vows and ordination, Paul will return to St. Ignatius Martyr Parish in Austin, Texas, where he will serve on the pastoral staff.
Stay tuned to the blog as well, too, as two current seminarians will be offer their reflections on the weekend. Then once the grace has begun to settle from these two momentous moments in his life, Paul will share with us his own thoughts and feelings from the weekend. But for now, on this graced weekend, please keep Paul, his family, and his religious community in your prayers.
