Fr. Antonelli retires from UP Archives

University of Portland Archivist and Holy Cross priest Rev. Robert Antonelli, C.S.C. , is retiring.

He took over as the University’s Archivist in 1999, after four years as the first Archivist for the Holy Cross Community in Rome.

Fr. Antonelli was received into the Congregation of Holy Cross in August 1957. He took his First Vows on Aug. 16, 1958, and Final Vows on Aug. 16, 1961. He was Ordained a priest on Dec. 18, 1965.

His successor is Rev. Jeffrey Schneibel, C.S.C. Fr. Schneibel was already assigned to the archives. He was received into the Congregation in August, 1980. He took First Vows on Aug. 8, 1981, and Final Vows on Sept. 1, 1984. He was Ordained a priest on April 13, 1985.

Fr. Antonelli’s contributions to the University of Portland were highlighted in an Oct. 29, 2012, story in The Beacon, the UP student newspaper.
