Rev. James Phalan, C.S.C., and Rev. Stephen Gibson, C.S.C., hit the road June 29 and 30 to raise money and awareness for families served by the work of the Father Patrick Peyton Memorial Centre in Attymass, Ireland.
Fr. Phalan is Director of Family Rosary International, a part of Holy Cross Family Ministries, while Rev. Gibson is Spiritual Director and Retreat Director at the Fr. Peyton Centre in Ireland.
Holy Cross Family Ministries and its family of agencies are part of the Congregation of Holy Cross, U.S. Province of Priests and Brothers. Servant of God Patrick Peyton, who started Family Rosary, was a Holy Cross priest.
Frs. Phalan and Gibson joined Bike-a-thon participants leaving from the Father Peyton Centre and riding to Galway, then returning to the Centre on the second day. Sponsors pledged to donate for each mile the bikers travelled. Bikers also collected money during the route. They raised more than $18,000.
Servant of God Patrick Peyton promoted the spiritual wellbeing of the family and praying the Rosary throughout the world. The Father Peyton Memorial Centre in Attymass, County Mayo, Peyton’s birthplace, offers parish missions and family retreats, Rosary rallies, school formation programs and Rosary distribution and promotional resources.
