Holy Cross has a number of resources available to help Catholics observe the Year of Faith.
Pope Benedict XVI declared the Year of Faith from Oct. 11, 2012, to Nov. 24, 2013, to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Vatican II and the 20th anniversary of the release of the “Catechism of the Catholic Church.”
Rev. Ronald Raab, C.S.C., is producing a monthly, three-minute Year of Faith audio retreat with prayer and music on his blog, “Broken But Not Divided,” at www.ronaldraab.com.
Raab said the retreat is meant to focus on essential aspects of the Catholic faith and invite us to prayer. It will be available throughout the year.
Fr. James Phalan, C.S.C., Director of Family Rosary International, recently contributed a post to the Holy Cross Vocations blog, “Spes Unica” on the Year of Faith and the Virgin Mary. Family Rosary is part of Holy Cross Family Ministries, a mission of the U.S. Province.
Ave Maria Press has a webpage dedicated to Year of Faith resources. The publisher, a ministry of the United States Province of Priests and Brothers, will highlight books, bulletin inserts and other resources for Catholic adults, ministers and catechists.
On the booklist so far are “Pillars of Faith,” a four-volume set by Peter J. Vaghi, “This is Our Faith” by Michael Pennock and “Vatican II in Plain English,” a three-volume set by Bill Huebsch.
Holy Cross Family Ministries also is offering a number of Rosary book, video and audio resources – in English and Spanish – in keeping with The Year of Faith. HCFM also is offering resources on its Facebook page and in its blog.
Additional Catholic resources on the Year of Faith include the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and the Vatican.
