The King’s College Early Learning Center recently earned accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children, the nation’s leading organization of early childhood professionals.
Located in Wilkes-Barre, Penn., King’s is an educational mission of the Congregation of Holy Cross, United States Province of Priests and Brothers.
The center went through an extensive self-study process, measuring the program and its services against the 10 NAEYC Early Childhood Program Standards and more than 400 related accreditation criteria in order to gain the five-year accreditation. NAEYC assessors also made an on-site visit of the program.
The Early Learning Center, which is run by Hildebrandt Learning Centers of Dallas, Penn., is licensed for 140 children ages infant through preschool. It is now one of more than 8,000 programs, about 8 percent of all preschools and other early childhood programs, accredited by the NAEYC.
