More than 7,500 miles separate Easton, Mass., from Agartala, India, but a program at Stonehill College bring students closer together.
Stonehill is an educational apostolate of the U.S. Province. The College offers “Extension India,” an 11-month cultural service program that allows young alumni to teach in the two Holy Cross high schools in Agartala. In addition, Indian students have been coming to Stonehill since 2010. Four Indian students have received scholarships to attend Stonehill through the program, with two more coming next year.
Parijat Bhattacharjee came to Stonehill during this academic year as part of the class of 2016. Read more about Parijat’s story and the connection between Holy Cross and India on the Stonehill website.
