A Holy Relic of St. Andre Bessette will be included in a Healing Mass and Blessing at St. Joseph Chapel at the Father Peyton Center in Easton, Mass., near the second anniversary of the Canonization of Holy Cross’ first Saint.
The Healing Mass and Blessing will be conducted in French from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, and in English from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7. Both services will include a procession, Rosary, anointing with Holy Oil, blessing with the relic and the Eucharist.
St. Andre was known as the “Miracle Worker of Montreal” for healing thousands of the faithful at St. Joseph’s Oratory in Montreal. He was Canonized on Oct. 17, 2010. More than 1 million people paid their respects upon his death in 1937 and 2 million visit his shrine every year.
This special program is part of the 70th anniversary celebration of the founding ofFamily Rosaryin 1942 by Servant of God Patrick Peyton, a Holy Cross Priest. He began his mission with the goal of building family unity through daily prayer of the Rosary. Fr. Peyton also is being considered for Sainthood by the Vatican.
Fr. Peyton’s legacy lives on through Holy Cross Family Ministries, a ministry of the Congregation of Holy Cross, United States Province of Priests and Brothers – which oversees the work ofFamily Rosaryin 17 countries –Family Theater Productions and the Father Peyton Family Institute. These ministries continue to reach out to families by providing millions of free Rosaries, conducting Rosary rallies, creating radio and TV programs that inspire, and other activities to promote family unity through prayer.
