    What drew you to Holy Cross?  The people! We have a remarkable community of men who, in their own unique ways, strive to make God "known, loved and served and thus save souls." It was the example of the men in Holy Cross, especially their "down-to-earth-ness" and their rich insights into Scripture, that initially drew me to apply.

    Most memorable event you've attended: My most memorable liturgy recently was a memorial mass in French for a Congolese family of immigrants who had suffered the loss of multiple relatives to brutal violence in the Congo. The family, along with a circle of friends from their parish community was invited to our seminary chapel to mourn their loved ones, and I played my small part by joining the small choir that sang Taize music during the liturgy. The grief was tremendous, but the service was very moving and healing.

    The place in the world you'd most like to visit: The Holy Cross missions in East Africa
    What drew you to Holy Cross?  I was drawn to Holy Cross especially by the charism of educating in the faith, the joy that I witnessed in the Holy Cross men at Notre Dame during my undergraduate years, and the sense that I might find a home amidst this religious family.

    What drew you to Holy Cross? TI was drawn by how much Holy Cross felt like a close knit family. The men were so relatable, personable, and inspiring. Theirs was a different kind of witness than I had expected, and because of that, I found myself wanting their joy and happiness!

    The most memorable liturgy you have attended: The re-dedication of Sacred Heart Church in Colorado Springs was a beautiful liturgy. The church itself was gorgeous following its renovation; but what was most striking to me was the parishioner involvement in every part of the liturgy and renovation project. Watching a couple of the parishioners dress the altar with the cloths that they themselves had made helped me see the important connection between the church as the building in which we worship and the Church as the people of God.

    What drew you to Holy Cross? The community life; to see a group of men living their vows joyously and supporting one another was what first drew me to Holy Cross and still draws me today.

    The most memorable liturgy you have attended: I had the opportunity to attend the Sunday Mass for WYD 2011 in Madrid. It took me about 12 hours the previous night to find my group on the airfield. Amidst the crowd-filled horizon, the Spirit's power and peace on that airfield filled me with wonder.

Relationships fostered with Holy Cross through various programs in campus ministry and ACE continued to inspire me for many years even after leaving Notre Dame, eventually leading me to discover my own vocation with Holy Cross. I believe the commitment Holy Cross shows toward Catholic educations is a true source of hope for the Church today.

    What drew you to Holy Cross? Two of the most important things that drew me to Holy Cross were the writings of Bl. Basil Moreau and the focus on the Holy Family as a model for the Congregation. Moreau charged his followers with the mission to bring Hope to the people of this suffering world and to save souls! This hope and salvation is found only in the Cross of Jesus Christ. I found messengers of this hope in the men of Holy Cross and for that reason I sought to follow in their footsteps pursuing ever deeper the imitation of Christ!

    What drew you to Holy Cross?  The joy and peace I saw in the Holy Cross religious I encountered during my undergraduate years at Notre Dame; they were men whose example of freely and truly embracing their vocations awoke a calling within me. When I made my visits to Moreau Seminary, the sense of welcome and family confirmed in my heart that these were men with hope to bring and I wanted to be a part of that.
