Two Holy Cross priests have been elected to the Board of Trustees at Stonehill College in Easton, Mass.
Stonehill is one of the educational ministries of the Congregation of Holy Cross, United States Province of Priests and Brothers.
Provincial Superior Rev. Thomas O’Hara, C.S.C., returns to the board, but as an ex-officio member. Rev. Paul Kollman, C.S.C., also was elected by the Board of Fellows.
Fr. O’Hara, the former President of King’s College, became the first elected Provincial Superior of the U.S. Province in June. He oversees the work and welfare of about 500 priests, brothers and seminarians from the U.S. Province whose service spans four continents. He has a Master of Divinity from the University of Notre Dame and a doctorate in political science from the American University in Washington, D.C. Fr. O’Hara taught government and politics at King’s, his alma mater, where he also served as Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs. He served as the College’s eighth president from1999 to 2011.
On Stonehill’s Board of Trustees, an ex officio position with full voting rights is reserved for the Provincial Superior.
An Assistant Professor in the History of Christianity in the Theology Department at Notre Dame, Fr. Kollman focuses his research on African Christianity, mission history and world Christianity. His research has taken him to Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania – all countries where Holy Cross has ministries – as well archives in Europe and the U.S. He received a doctorate in History of Religions from the University of Chicago’s Divinity School. Fr. Kollman received a Master of Divinity and a Bachelor’s in Theology and History from Notre Dame.
