Two Holy Cross Priests on Stonehill Presidental Search Committee

Two Holy Cross priests are part of Stonehill College’s Presidential Search Committee.President Rev. Mark Cregan, C.S.C.,(1978), plans to step down at the end of this academic year in June.

In a November 7, 2012, letter to the College community, William Devin (1960), chairman of the newly formed, 12-member search committee, said precedence guided his selection of the committee. May said the committee includes representatives from all areas of college life.

Rev. Thomas O’Hara, C.S.C., Provincial Superior of the Congregation of Holy Cross, United States Province of Priests and Brothers, and Rev. Thomas Looney, C.S.C., a Trustee and Director of Campus Ministry at King’s College, are the Holy Cross representatives on the committee.

Fr. O’Hara also is helping to direct the search. He began soliciting nominations from among priests in the U.S. Province last month. The deadline for applications is Dec. 1, with interviews following through January. Finalists will meet with the Stonehill Community in February. The Stonehill Board is expected to act on recommendations at its May meeting.
