The University of Portland (Ore.) is presenting its highest honor, the Christus Magister Medal, to Carolyn Woo, president and CEO of Catholic Relief Services.
She will receive the honor at the May 4 commencement.
Woo previously served as dean and professor at the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza School of Business. She also served as vice president and professor at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Ind., where she earned all three of her degrees.
CRS is the overseas relief agency of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.
In addition, Archbishop Alexander Sample of the Archdiocese of Portland, Ore., will receive an honorary degree and Anne Thompson, chief environmental affairs correspondent for NBC News and ND graduate, will give the commencement address. Thompson also is a member of the ND Board of Trustees.
