“Four Sinners and a Monk” and “All the President’s Men” not the names of famous books, but a couple of Rev. Edward “Monk” Malloy’s Bookstore Basketball teams over the years.
The Holy Cross Priest, who served as president of the University of Notre Dame from 1987 to 2005, was an avid Bookstore Basketball player from 1974 until late into his presidency. Fr. Malloy was a star player at Archbishop Carroll High School and a scholarship basketball player for the Fighting Irish.
