Holy Cross Resources for Lent

ash_wednesday_2

Ash Wednesday is March 5, the first day of Lent, a time of preparation for the Lord’s Passion, Death and Resurrection.

The Congregation of Holy Cross and its apostolates have a variety of resources to aid in your spiritual renewal as we await Christ’s coming at Easter.

OnlineStations of the Cross
Can’t get to Stations of the Cross at Church on Friday nights? Need a spiritual meditation at work or home? You can now participate any time by using our online version of the Way of the Cross. Each station features a photo from a Holy Cross church, apostolate or community house in the United States and Chile. The prayers and reflections are based on the Lenten prayer booklet, “You have Redeemed the World: Praying the Stations in the Holy Cross Tradition,” by Revs. Andrew Gawrych, C.S.C. and Kevin Grove, C.S.C., published by Ave Maria Press, the publishing apostolate of the U.S. Province. The booklet is also available in Spanish.

Lenten Recipes
Abstaining from meat is part of Lent. But instead of lamenting the loss, use this time of renewal to discover new recipes. In a Lenten reflection,Fr. Charlie Kohlerman’s, C.S.C., lovingly remembers some of his mother’s dishes and how these simple dinners brought his family closer together during Lent.

This Lent, Holy Cross religious and chefs at our community houses, have submitted some of their favorite Lenten recipes. We are pleased to share them with you along with others we found. Please visit our“Recipes for Lent”boardon the U.S. Province Pinterest page (www.pinterest.com/holycrossusa.org). We are also posting them on our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/holycrossus). Check back often, new recipes will be pinned frequently.
