Our friend Fr. Fred Jenga, C.S.C., the President of Holy Cross Family Ministries, was recently featured on the Ethics and Culture Cast, a podcast production of the de Nicola Center for Ethics and Culture.
In it, Fr. Fred tells of his appreciation for the first generation of Holy Cross priests to arrive in Uganda in 1958 and how, years later, they invited him into their community. Something about their joy and their communal life attracted him. “I wanted really to be like these men,” Fr. Fred said. In particular, Fr. Robert “Bob” Hesse, C.S.C., played an important role in Fr. Fred’s vocational discernment simply by the way he lived. “It’s people like that, that inspired me.”
