Undergraduate Discernment Retreat

Fall, 2026. Check back later for dates

The Undergraduate Discernment Retreat offers college undergraduates the opportunity to begin to find the answer to the critical, life-defining question: What is God calling me to do? Held at Moreau Seminary and Scholasticate, on the campus of the University of Notre Dame, the Undergraduate Discernment Retreat begins Friday afternoon and concludes Sunday afternoon.

The retreat teaches the basics of how to listen for and recognize God’s call. In addition to personal reflection time, Eucharistic Adoration, Liturgy of the Hours, and daily Mass, the retreat teaches forms of prayer particularly helpful in hearing the voice of the Lord. It also covers the history, charism, and mission of the Congregation of Holy Cross. Holy Cross priests and seminarians from the local area attend parts of the retreat to share their personal experiences of seminary, community, and ministry in the Congregation. The schedule includes ample time for individual conversations with members of Holy Cross and fellow discerners.

Campus Discernment Community

Men from across campus who are open to discerning religious life (or actively discerning!) are welcome to join a community that will meet monthly for adoration, Mass, and brunch. It is an opportunity to pray together and enjoy brotherhood with others who are also seeking to respond to Jesus’ invitation to “Come, follow me” and to discover where that invitation will lead.
