Post-Undergraduate Discernment Retreat
January 9-11, 2026
The Post-Undergraduate Discernment Retreat offers college graduates (under the age of 35) the opportunity to engage these questions of discernment with the Congregation of Holy Cross. The retreat begins Friday afternoon and concludes Sunday afternoon and takes place at Moreau Seminary and Scholasticate on the campus of the University of Notre Dame. Sessions on discernment, prayer, seminary life, and religious and priestly ministry are designed to help participants discover not only the right questions to be asking of themselves and of God, but also how to listen for the answers.
The daily schedule of the retreat includes a rhythm of communal prayer centered on the Liturgy of the Hours and Mass. There is also ample time for personal prayer and reflection as well as for individual conversations with members of Holy Cross, including members of the Vocations Team. Shared meals with the seminary community give a glimpse into community life with men discerning a similar calling, providing a casual setting in which to learn more about the mission, charism, and community of Holy Cross.

Pikes Peak Discernment Retreat

Offered to young adult men discerning God’s call, the Pikes Peak Discernment Retreat is a weekend of prayer, fraternity, and hiking in the mountain area surrounding Cascade, Colorado – home of the Holy Cross Novitiate. Get a taste of the life of a Holy Cross Novice as you climb the foothills of “America’s Mountain,” discern God’s call in quiet solitude and joy-filled community, and witness first profession of the vows of chastity, poverty, and obedience in the Congregation of Holy Cross!

Come and stay at Moreau Seminary and Scholasticate for a few days, see first hand what life at Moreau is like, and speak with a vocations director while you are here.
