Six novices from the Congregation of Holy Cross made their First Professions this July, bringing joy to their jurisdictions and the whole Congregation.
The Province of East Africa held its annual Mass of First Profession on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at the Holy Cross Novitiate at Lake Saaka, Uganda. Five novices, four for the Society of Priests and one for the Society of Brothers, made their First Vows:
- Mr. Valence S. Mboya, C.S.C.,
- Mr. David Arika, C.S.C.,
- Mr. Denis Ariko, C.S.C.,
- Br. Charles Ndungu, C.S.C., and
- Mr. Felix Peter Musakubawo, C.S.C.
Rev. Lawrence Mwenya, C.S.C., pastor of Holy Cross Parish in Dandora, Kenya, and a member of the Provincial Council, presided and preached at the Mass. He encouraged the newly professed to remain faithful to their calling and to live the Holy Cross charism with dedication, humility, and hope. A reception followed, allowing family members, other Holy Cross religious, and friends of the community to celebrate this milestone in the lives of our men.
Just over a week later, on July 24, Mr. Sati Chandra Benedict Tripura, C.S.C., made his First Profession during a Mass celebrated at the Chapel of Holy Cross Oriental Institute, Sagardi, in Barishal, Bangladesh. His vows were received by the Sacred Heart of Jesus Provincial, Rev. George K. Rozario, C.S.C., who also served as the main celebrant of the Mass. Many priests, brothers, and sisters joined Mr. Sati’s family, relatives, and friends for the celebration.
Please join the Holy Cross Mission Center in praying for these men of faith as they continue to discern God’s call on their lives.
