Community Engagement Updates, November 2023:

• Assistant Director for Community Engagement Michael Jezewak recently visited the University of Portland, Stonehill College, and King’s College to deepen our partnerships with Holy Cross students, faculty, and staff. There were many fruitful connections made and conversations had. In addition to those, Michael was inspired by the ways that Holy Cross education helps students live the Mission: through Eucharistic Processions at UP, service opportunities with the unhoused in Portland, faith-sharing through the IGNITE Group at Stonehill, Produce Mondays at the Shoval Center at King’s, and student reflections on their service-immersion experiences in Bangladesh at King’s. Each in its own way offers students an entry point for Christian living. What a gift!
• King’s College’s Economics and International Business Club is brainstorming fundraising events for their revitalized Twinning relationship with a high school in Uganda. Thank you to Dr. Margarita Rose for inviting the HCMC to partner with the club.
• Immersion experiences: We are excited to help over 60 students from Holy Cross colleges and universities visit our international missions in the summer of 2024. If your Holy Cross parish, school, residence hall, or student group is interested in sponsoring a group visit to a Holy Cross mission, please email Michael Jezewak at mjezewak@holycrossusa.org to schedule an exploratory call.
• Thank you to all attendees of our September 25th Centennial Celebration! It served as a great opportunity to reflect on our institutional history and plant seeds for our ongoing support for Holy Cross’s international missions. Videos of our keynote presenters, Dr. Carolyn Woo; Rev. Paul Kollman, C.S.C.; and Superior General Br. Paul Bednarczyk, C.S.C., are now available on our YouTube channel. Click here to watch them.
