Ways that you resonate with the Holy Cross charism, “Educators in the Faith”: I’m really drawn to Holy Cross’ charism because of the role that educators have had in shaping my own faith. In school, at my home parish, and especially within my family, I’ve been blessed to be surrounded by people who have lived out their faith in an authentic, whole-hearted way. These people were the ones who helped me come to know, love, and serve God – a gift which has changed my life dramatically. I feel called to live my life in a way that gives thanks for that gift and passes it forward. I think Holy Cross’ emphasis on family life and educating the whole person (heart and mind) is a really beautiful way to do that.

One aspect of Holy Cross spirituality that speaks to you the most and why: Trusting in Divine Providence has been one aspect of Holy Cross spirituality that has really influenced my life over the past few years. I’m not always great at it, but I’ve found a lot of peace in growing more aware of how God is always at work in my life and the lives of those around me. Knowing God is present doesn’t erase our crosses, but it does bring hope to them.

Favorite Quote: “You called, you shouted, and you broke through my deafness. You flashed, you shone, and you dispelled my blindness. You breathed your fragrance on me; I drew in breath and now I pant for you. I have tasted you, now I hunger and thirst for more. You touched me, and I burned for your peace.” – St. Augustine

Favorite Bl. Basil or St. André Quote: “It is God’s own hand that has guided everything, and God it is whom we must thank above all.” – Blessed Basil Moreau
