Vocations

Vocations

… a life to which we would happily invite others.
Constitutions of the Congregation of Holy Cross,6:60

Our life in Holy Cross is one to which the Lord Jesus has called us. By answering His call, we have been drawn into a life of fulfillment and joy where we find ourselves serving Christ and His Church in ways that we never imagined. Confident that Jesus continues to issue that same call to a new generation, we happily invite others to join us in our life and in our work.

Hearing and answering God’s call is not always easy. The Holy Cross Office of Vocations stands ready to assist young men as they search for how Christ is inviting them to follow Him. From materials for reflection to conversations with a vocation director, from discernment retreats to opportunities to visit the seminary, the way that each young man comes to understand his vocation with us is varied and so are the resources that we offer. For more information on ways that we can help, visit the Office of Vocations webpage.

Often it is by entering into the seminary or formation program that a young man finds the clearest answer to whether God is calling him to the priesthood or religious life. Currently the United States Province of Holy Cross provides two vibrant programs for young men to more deeply discern their calling with us: The Old College Undergraduate Seminary and the Postulant Program.

Old College Undergraduate Seminary

The Old College Undergraduate Seminary offers college-age men an opportunity to enter into a seminary program during their undergraduate years.

Postulant Program

The Postulant Program at Moreau Seminary is an introductory year for college graduates who are ready to immerse themselves in Holy Cross community life while continuing their personal discernment.
