Dates for Year of Mission Planning

All Holy Cross apostolates and partners are invited to participate in the Congregation of Holy Cross’s ongoing Year of Mission. To assist you in your organizational planning, the Holy Cross Mission Center invites you to consider the following events through April 2026.

***October 2025: WORLD MISSION MONTH for the Catholic Church – Read the pope’s message here. Consider how your community can initiate a Twinning relationship with a Holy Cross ministry abroad, coordinate an educational event on Mission, share about Holy Cross’s missionary heroes, or integrate the Congregation’s Mission into your liturgies during October. October 19, 2025 – World Mission Sunday for the Catholic Church. For speaker resources to share with Holy Cross religious, visit missionappeals.holycrossmissions.org.

November 5, 11, & 18, 2025 – Baraka Bouts Women’s Boxing Tournament dates at the University of Notre Dame. All proceeds go to Holy Cross ministries in East Africa. Learn more at barakabouts.holycrossmissions.org.

November 13, 2025 – Webinar: “Mission Among Families Today” led by Fr. Fred Jenga, C.S.C., Fr. Pinto Paul, C.S.C., and Fr. Willie Raymond, C.S.C., of Holy Cross Family Ministries. Learn more here.

***January 6 – February 2, 2026: HOLY CROSS HERITAGE MONTH – Join this second annual celebration of Holy Cross’s heritage coordinated by the U.S. Province’s Office of Apostolic Mission & Charism. Consider how this month could be an opportunity to deepen your community’s understanding of or participation in Holy Cross’s Mission. Learn more at holycrossmonth.org.

January 8, 2026 – Webinar: “The Missionary Nature of Holy Cross Schools” led by Br. PJ Santhosh, C.S.C., Fr. Prosper Atukwatse, C.S.C., and Dr. Richard Bautch. Learn more here.

January 25 – 31, 2026 – Catholic Schools Week in the U.S. Find Holy Cross educational resources on Mission at education.holycrossmissions.org or reach out to our partners at the Holy Cross Institute.

Spring Semester 2026, Dates on Request – Pre-immersion formation opportunities with the Holy Cross Mission Center. Immersions to Holy Cross’s international ministries are the best ways to understand how the Mission is lived out by Holy Cross priests and brothers around the world. The HCMC offers pre-departure formation to student, faculty, staff, and benefactor immersion groups throughout the year, most especially in the lead up to spring break and summer break. ***February 18 – April 2, 2026: LITURGICAL SEASON OF LENT -Your community is invited to give alms this Lent for select Holy Cross’s ministries, including your registered Twinning partner. Learn more at lent.holycrossmissions.org.

February – March 2026, Four Dates TBA – Bengal Bouts Men’s Boxing Tournament at the University of Notre Dame. All proceeds go to Holy Cross ministries in Bangladesh. Learn more at bengalbouts.holycrossmissions.org.

February 23 – 25, 2026 – the Holy Cross Institute’s Convocation at St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas. Learn more about this annual gathering of Holy Cross educators at convocation2026.com.

March 12, 2026 – Webinar: “Building up the Church in a Mission Area” led by Bishop Lumen Monteiro, C.S.C. Learn more here.

April 9, 2026 – Webinar: “Experience of the Holy Family Mission in Papua New Guinea” led by Fr. Thomas John C.S.C., and the Holy Cross missionaries to Papua New Guinea (PNG). Learn more here.

April 28, 2026 – Conclusion of the Congregational Year of Mission. With your community members, reflect on the four goals of the Year of Mission using the three reflection questions offered by Superior General Br. Paul Bednarczyk, C.S.C. Explore those below, and let them guide you as you plan for the years to come!
