Bishop Vincent McCauley, C.S.C. (1906-1982), was passionate about building up the Church. Before establishing Holy Cross’s Mission to East Africa in 1958, he spent years forming missionaries in seminary and raising funds for the missions, and in these efforts he often shared his mission appeal slogan: “Wanted to build a better world: Few architects, more bricklayers.”
As a special way to celebrate our Centennial and honor the missionary legacy of Servant of God Vincent McCauley, the Holy Cross Mission Center is announcing the $10,000 Bricklayers Matching Grant, which will match up to $10,000 in official Twinning fundraising done through April 2024!
If your residence hall, parish, club, sports team, or school is looking for a way to give back and encounter Holy Cross’s global community, email us today at hcmc@holycrossusa.org to set up an exploratory call with Assistant Director for Community Engagement Michael Jezewak. He will share best practices on how your group can begin a Twinning relationship with a Holy Cross ministry in Bangladesh, Chile, Kenya, Peru, Tanzania, or Uganda.
