Construction of St. André Chapel Continues

The construction work on St. André Chapel in Diglakona, Bangladesh, began on February 16, 2021, with the blessing of the Most Rev. Ponen Paul Kubi, C.S.C., bishop of Mymensingh Catholic Diocese. The ground-breaking ceremony was held the same day in the presence of Rev. Shekhor Richard Pereira, C.S.C., and Rev. Dominic Sarkar, C.S.C. Both events were attended by sisters, parishioners, and village leaders.

Bishop Kubi inaugurated the base and column casting on March 3, 2021, with the first roof casting taking place on May 10, 2021, and was inaugurated by the bishop and former Provincial Rev. James C. Cruze, C.S.C.

Since the roof casting, the construction work has progressed with the structure of the Church, and its shape is now visible to everyone. There is still much work that needs to be done but it is moving along nicely. The photos tell a great story.
