International Apostolic, Justice & Peace 2025-26 Project Preview

The Holy Cross Mission Center (HCMC) recently invited Holy Cross religious from six different countries to apply for the annual International Apostolic, Justice & Peace Grant. This grant provides essential funding for apostolic, social justice, peace-building, and educational initiatives carried out in the name of the Congregation by Holy Cross.

This year, the HCMC is proud to fund 13 projects with this grant. Below are a few project highlights that we are excited to share.

Supporting Refugee Families with Food Relief
Konge, Uganda

The area surrounding St. Denis Ssebuggwawo Holy Cross Catholic Parish has seen an influx of impoverished refugees who lack access to government assistance. This project will provide critical food relief to approximately 60 refugee families struggling to meet their basic needs.

Three-day Teacher Training and Retreat
Lima, Peru

Fe y Alegría no. 25 employs 102 teachers who play a vital role in shaping young minds. At an estimated $30 USD per person, this project will fund a three-day, off-site training and retreat designed to strengthen their understanding of Holy Cross spirituality and foster deeper community among the staff. Organizers hope this time of renewal will reinvigorate the teachers and enhance their work in the classroom.

Replacement of Deteriorating Chapel
Fulbari Upazila, Bangladesh

In Chiracuta Village, 344 Bangladeshi Catholics can no longer worship safely in their chapel due to structural deterioration (pictured below). With no suitable alternative, parishioners have resorted to celebrating the Mass outside in an open field, vulnerable to weather and wildlife. This funding will make it possible to construct a new, safe, chapel. The community, eager for a spiritual home, has generously donated land and labor to support the project.

The International Apostolic, Justice & Peace Grant is made possible only through the generous support of our benefactors. The Holy Cross Mission Center and all of our international partners are extremely grateful for the financial and spiritual support of so many.

This Advent, may we cling to the hope that the Gospel may be spread to all and that justice and peace may flourish throughout the world.
