On Saturday, April 18, 2026, the Congregation of Holy Cross held a Missionary Youth Encounter at Saint George’s College in Santiago, Chile, as part of the Year of Mission. The event brought together around 60 young people and members of various apostolates in Chile.
As part of the gathering, participants shared their summer missionary experiences, recognizing the presence of God and the face of Christ in their service to others.
In addition, the testimony and legacy of several Holy Cross missionary heroes were presented, including those of Venerable Patrick Peyton (C.S.C.), Servant of God Vincent McCauley (C.S.C.), and Servant of God Flavian Laplante (C.S.C.). The witness of these missionary C.S.C.s inspired the gathered youth to continue to strengthen the missionary commitment of their generation.
