The following prayer was formalized by the Congregation’s Mission Commission during their meeting in Rome in the summer of 2026. We invite all to pray with us:
Lord God, You inspired Blessed Basil Moreau to found the Congregation of Holy Cross, modeled after the Holy Family of Nazareth, bringing together priests, brothers, and sisters in one apostolic family.
He called us to cross every border in service of your people, proclaiming the Gospel through education ministry, parish ministry, family ministry and social apostolates, while collaborating with people of good will.
Ignite within us a renewed zeal for our missionary calling to be instruments of your Word and Sacraments.
In this age of technological advancement, climate change, and wars, grant us the wisdom to ensure that everything we do, may always serve the common good, protect the dignity of every person, and uphold the sacred gift of our shared humanity.
Through the intercession of St. Brother André, Blessed Basil Moreau, and all the holy men and women of Holy Cross, help us to continue faithfully the mission of Christ, building the kingdom of justice and peace, with the “competence to see and the courage to act.” May we become agents of hope, transformation, reconciliation, and healing, especially to the poor, the distressed and the marginalized.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
