Through a $7,500 grant from the Holy Cross Mission Center, St. Felista Parish in Utegi, Musoma, Tanzania, provided life-giving support to 250 impoverished elderly community members. The project ensured regular access to nutritious meals, essential medications, warm clothing, and healthcare.
Recognizing that aging often brings social isolation as well as physical hardship, the parish intentionally distributed these resources at social and faith-based gatherings. As a result, this project not only improved health outcomes, but also improved emotional and spiritual well-being among the beneficiaries. By caring for the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—this project strengthened both individual lives and the wider community.
