Education Apostolates Recognized for Community Service

Stonehill Into the Streets Project

All four U.S. Province higher education apostolates have been named to the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll for 2013.

The Corporation for National & Community Service has been recognizing colleges and universities for meaningful and measurable outcomes in community service since 2006. The award also aims to highlight the role higher ed plays in helping students attain a lifelong path of civic engagement.

The University of Notre Dame (Ind.) was given the status of “Honor Roll with Distinction.”

King’s College (Wilkes-Barre, Pa.), Stonehill College (Easton, Mass.) and the University of Portland (Ore.) also made honor roll status. King’s and Stonehill both have been honored each year since 2006.
