The Feast of Saint Joseph was celebrated with joy and devotion across the District of Chile-Peru, uniting the Congregation of Holy Cross, including both priests and brothers.
On March 19, the Congregation gathered at the San Francisco de Asís Chapel in El Señor de la Esperanza Parish to celebrate the Solemnity of Saint Joseph, patron of the Holy Cross brothers. The celebration began with a novena from March 10 to 18, during which daily prayers were offered in honor of Saint Joseph. On the feast day, the central moment of the celebration was the Holy Mass, presided over by Fr. Elmer Caro, C.S.C., Assistant Superior, and followed by a reflection from Br. Anthony Terrones, C.S.C. The Eucharist began with the solemn entrance of the image of Saint Joseph, followed by the procession of the ministers and the honored brothers.
The chapel was completely full, reflecting the love and devotion of the community. After Mass, a moment of celebration was shared, with the Sisters of Holy Cross and the Sisters of the Holy Cross joining all attendees in fellowship.
Br. Anthony’s reflection included the words:
“May Saint Brother André Bessette, the apostle and friend of Saint Joseph in following Jesus, bring us closer each day to Jesus’ earthly father. And may Saint Joseph teach us all that he once taught Jesus.”
The following day, March 20, the community at Colegio Fe y Alegría 25 celebrated Saint Joseph’s Day in the school courtyard. Fr. José Luis Tineo, C.S.C., Director of Pastoral Ministry, and Sr. Esmeralda, C.S.C. accompanied the primary-level students in an emotional time of reflection. During the event, the children remembered the example of humility and work of Saint Joseph, sang with enthusiasm, and shared in community.
These celebrations served as an opportunity for the members of the Holy Cross community to remember the values of Saint Joseph and his example of dedication and service.
