Holy Cross Apostolates in Peru Work Together for a Missionary Day of Outreach

On March 2, 2026, as part of the Year of Mission, Holy Cross apostolates across Peru came together for a day of missionary outreach.

Participants formed 11 teams and gathered at the market near bus stop 10 in Canto Grande. There, they encountered families and kiosk owners, offering prayer and blessings while engaging in conversation. They also shared the services of their respective apostolates and distributed posters of the Holy Family, inviting all to pray for peace in the spirit of Venerable Patrick Peyton’s well-known motto: “A World at Prayer is a World at Peace.”

Throughout the day, each team entered into meaningful encounters—listening to personal stories, sharing faith, and witnessing to the mission of Holy Cross with joy.

Several religious of the Congregation took part in the outreach, including Rev. José Luis Tineo, C.S.C., Rev. Juan Phalen, C.S.C., Rev. Aníbal Niño, C.S.C., Rev. Elmer Caro, C.S.C., Rev. Jim Gutierrez, C.S.C., Rev. Thomas Eckert, C.S.C., and Brother Anthony Terrones, C.S.C. Together with lay collaborators, they offered a visible sign of faith, service, and communion in action.

Provided by the District of Chile-Peru, a jurisdiction of the Congregation of Holy Cross, and the Mission Center, April 2026.
