From March 3–12, 2026, the Chile-Peru District welcomed Rev. William (Bill) Lies, C.S.C., Provincial Superior of the United States Province of the Congregation of Holy Cross, and Rev. Thomas Eckert, C.S.C., Director of the Holy Cross Mission Center.
Their visit began in Peru, where from March 3–6 they spent time with the Santa Cruz mission, before continuing on to Chile for the remainder of their stay.
A highlight of the trip took place on Tuesday, March 10, when Fr. Lies and Fr. Eckert visited Colegio y Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de Andacollo. They were joined by Dr. Chris Haug, Director of Apostolic Mission and Charism for the U.S. Province of Priests & Brothers. In an atmosphere marked by closeness and fraternity, they met with school leaders and students, gaining firsthand insight into how the Congregation’s charism is lived out in the life of the school.
Throughout their time in the district, the visit offered a valuable opportunity to engage personally with local religious, encounter the communities they serve, and deepen their understanding of the diverse apostolates of Holy Cross in the region.
