During my time in formation, I have seen a few Final Vows weekends come and go. Yet I feel this year, my experience will be a little different.
The priesthood is a beautiful life and living as a Holy Cross religious is a wonderful vocation. I have found what I was seeking.
How often have we wanted God to break through the veil so that we may see His glory, if only for an instant?
Thanks be to God that I am always under construction. Thanks be to God that His grace is always at work in me, drawing and inviting me into ever greater union with Him.
I had much to learn from this beautiful people, more than I had ever imagined.
It was becoming clear to me that God had set forth another path, a new journey, for my religious life in Holy Cross.
Looking back on my time at Moreau Seminary, it's fitting that the place bearing his name continues to call young men who possess the traits of faithfulness, perseverance, charity and hope.
May the life of Blessed Basil Moreau, and the life of all of the brothers, sisters, and priests that are a part of his religious family, continue to be an inspiration to us all.
Please keep the ten young men of this first-ever Summer Seminary Immersion Program in your prayers as they continue to actively discern where God is calling each of them to make Him known, loved, and served.
The pilgrimage for many had started much earlier and been much more difficult than mine, but our slow walk together was an expression of our common faith and hope.
